The new air link feature has been released in the last day or so. Has anyone here tried it? It does seem to be better quality than virtual desktop, and for me at least more stable than the link cable. I’ve only had a quick go so didn’t run any tests but it may be the answer some people need if you’re having issues getting your Q2 to work properly. The only downside I saw is that it doesn’t half drain the battery quickly.

A higher frame rate reduces latency and you should spend enough GPU headroom on resolution. Start AirLink and Set Bitrate --- Maintaining a stable transmission rate of 100-200mbps (or purchasing a used router[www.ebay.com]) to accomplish this) is paramount.

When both the PC and the Quest headset are connected to the router wirelessly, the Quest Air Link data must travel over the same channel twice, effectively interfering with itself. That is why we recommend connecting the PC to the router with an Ethernet cable.

Yes. Even if you buy a VR headset, theres no point in running it especially if you have a low end PC. For the best experience, i would recommend a high end video card like the RTX 3080 or even better because when it comes to high end gaming like this, you are going to need all the power you can get.

To be fair, when it works, AirLink is pure magic. So long as you have a fast and stable Wi-Fi connection (which is a requirement for any wireless streaming option here), and the software happens to work flawlessly – you can connect your Quest to your PC in seconds, and play PCVR games with virtually no latency.

Oculus Killer

Not only does this boost performance by considerable amounts by killing Oculus Dash entirely (seriously, Oculus Dash was eating 200 MB of memory + GPU, even when not in use) so this should help with performance issues with SteamVR on Oculus headsets too.

Poor image quality on a wired Oculus Link setup is normally caused by a low bitrate, which means that your PC is compressing the image before sending it over the cable to your Oculus Quest.

Adjusting Air Link Refresh Rate and Rendering Resolution

Once you've got Air Link up and running, you can switch between 72Hz (the default, recommended option), 80Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. However, this is only available to Quest 2 users — those using the original Quest can only run content at 72Hz.
