For the last week students have signed pledge cards to give up one to three meals each Wednesday during lent.

Other fast days are set Feb. 26th and March 5th. "A majority of students who have signed agreed to give up all three meals, so we have a possibility of having the cost of at least 5,000 meals contributed the drive," said Rev. John H. tor Crooch of the Wesley Foundation, which is aiding the project.

Approximately 60 cents will be credited by the University Food Service for each meal missed. The money will be deposited in a bank account by the United Campus Ministers, and turned over to UNICEF. The fast had received widespread support from student leaders, the student newspaper and campus ministers. Symbolic meals of rice and water were served to fasting students attending services at several Norman churches. Purpose cf the rice and water was to create an awareness of the Biafran situation.

However, many students were making up the donation of their cafeteria dinners at pizza and hamburger stands near campus. Legislative Calendar Senate Journal amount.
